Ava's Birthday Party with Family

Ava continued to celebrate her birthday through the weekend and topped it off with a small immediate family gathering where we had one of her favorite meals...New York strip, hashbrown casserole, and corn on the cob. I had ordered her a cake with an owl on it since she is crazy about owls. She has two Owl pillows ( one from Ashley), three stuffed Owls (from Grandma and Grandpa) and two Owl pins (from my sister Jan). She is still asking for Owl cake and it's been two weeks since her birthday. I think Ava had a pretty good birthday week.

Ava's Curious George Birthday Party

Ava had her first kids party the day after her Birthday this year and I themed it as a Curious George party because that is the one TV show we let her watch in the morning and she loves it!! She had Curious George plates, napkins, cups, goodie bags, bubbles, and balloons. It turned out to be a beautiful day so we had it outside and the kids played and ate and played some more. It was a fun afternoon for her and great to see all the kids play together so well.

Ava's Birthday at the Zoo

Ava's Birthday fell on a Thursday this year so George took off work and we planned a day with just Ava. Our original plan was to go to the Ft. Wayne Zoo but the weather was chilly and rainy so we stayed close to home and went to the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend. It turned out to be a perfect day because the rain cleared while we were there, and since we were the only ones at the zoo, Ava could run around and we didn't have to worry about crowds, etc. The exhibit that was the most interesting was the Lions and Tigers. They were very active and came right up to the cages. The Lions were roaring and now I know why they call them the King of the jungle. After the zoo we took her out to lunch and had the wait staff sing Happy Birthday to her.

Mother's Day-All my children together

This year had lunch with the family and then planned on planting the garden, but we had to wait due to a frost warning. Still was nice to have all of us together on Mother's Day. George bought me a tropical lotus flower for our pond and took over all the feedings for the day. I loved my cards from Ava and the twins and from Ashley. Thankful to be a Mother!!!

Twins are Three months old!!!

It's hard to believe that the twins are three months old. They are now smiling and cooing and taking in the world. Ava is now accepted and embraced that the twins are here to stay and she talks to them and makes them smile. Jovi and Finn are "technically" sleeping through the night and we are feeling alot better now that are brains are functioning with some sleep. However, sleep is still at the top of our priority list "to do" if we get the chance. We no longer have our nanny and glad that time has ended. We just recently hired a friend of mines daughter (Ashley Kalman) for two days a week over her summer break from college to help out so I can run errands, have my hair done, Dr's appt, etc. She is doing a great job and I look forward to a great summer with the kids.

Terri's Birthday-April 12th

This year George and I went out for my birthday during the day as that is when we had coverage for the kiddo's. Our first stop was at JaRoss for pedicures, then we ate sushi at Soho for lunch and then on to shopping at The Loft for some new clothes for me. Had a great day with my husband!! He is so thoughtful and makes my birthday special every year. Jovi and Finn also gave me a wonderful birthday present by sleeping most of the night. Jovi slept until 5am and Finn slept until 3:30am. The next night we were back to the usual number of feedings but it was wonderful to get some extra sleep on my birthday.

Easter Weekend

We decided to have our Easter meal out this year as we didn't have the time or energy to pull together a big meal. However...we had not taken ALL three of our little ones out yet!! So, in preparation for our Easter outing, we decided to do two trial runs on Friday and Saturday before Easter. Our Friday outing went really well and our Saturday outing to church was pretty disasterous. We decided that good communication and listening skills between George and I was the key to a smooth outing (that is IF the children cooperate also). Easter Sunday came and we met Ashley and her boyfriend Jake at uptown kitchen for a delicious brunch and mimosa's. The twins did well at the restaurant and Ava was a little ray of sunshine. We had brought along all of Ava's Easter Eggs, so we hid them around the Villa Macri fountain and common areas. She was SO EXCITED to hunt eggs and she seemed to know what to do and how to do it without much help. We still haven't figured out how she knew what to do. I wasn't able to see all the fun she had as the twins were now in feeding mode and crying for their bottles. However, for the following two weeks after Easter she wanted us to hide the eggs over and over again so she could find them. She didn't care that there was no longer treats in them. Next year should be so much fun to watch all three of them race to find the eggs and we won't have to attempt any trial runs.

George's day out-Chicago Bulls vs Detroit Pistons

The end of March brought about a fun day/night for George as he was asked to go to a Chicago Bulls/Detroit Pistons basketball game with his good friend Tim Hoffman. This was pretty exciting as they were what George referred to as "Jack Nickelson" seats...Otherwise known as the Floor. The game was televised and George and Tim were on camera right before half-time (waving,of course). They also were able to go before and after the game to a VIP area for food and drinks. It was a great time and a well deserved break for George from the daily routine of bottles and diapers. Thanks Tim for taking George!!!
